| Interests: | I'm a history addict. I devour history books. I love to meet people from other countries because I can ask them to tell about their country's history. You can learn a lot about the world just by listening to a person. I love listening to and watching live bands. Bands are great because you can watch them tune their instruments, adjust the volume, and change their tone by turning knobs. Tuning monitors facinate me. Their blinking lights and guitarist look so unified as one responds to the other's communication. It is rare for me not to end the night in love with the drummer. I love percussion. I love to watch the drummer adjust the microphones on the Toms. I always get excited if the drummer has a cowbell or bongo drums. I get so angry when the lead singer's body blocks the drummer! I also hate if a symbol is blocking the drummer's face. Sometimes I'm bold enough to say something. I absolutely love when drummers can twirl their sticks! Now, when a band can change time signature, transpose, or even change keys, you can be certain they will get a squeal, jump up and down, and clap my hands response from me. I appreciate seeing Microphones near all of the instruments because I like hearing a different voice singing throughout the night. I also love the symphony (Especially Beethoven's fifth). That composition gives me goosebumps and I find myself saying "WOW!" all the time. I love when I'm waiting for the concert to begin. When the Concert Master comes out and plays /A / and all the instruments start to tune, it's like magic., All of those individuals make a huge sound. Then you hear them practicing measures that they find challenging and you always hear the scales. I think that the tuning is almost as good as the symphony itself. Maybe it's because it personalizes the musicians. They all know each other and work together or maybe it's the suspense. I love live theatre. I like to think about costume changes and what's going on backstage to prepare for the next scene. I love to imagine the aroma in the make-up artist's studio (a mixture of pancake base and hairspray.). I think about how patient you would have to be to sit and have someone work on your face for two hours. I often wonder about the conversations the lighting and sound crew must have had during rehearsals. I hung around some when I was younger, Their language was pretty colorful was their metaphors. I love art museums when they're not crowded (Chicago is always crowded!). I find Picaso's works moving and open to so much interpretation. I love Monet. His use of color to create reflection is astouding, although I find myself drawn more toward portraits than landscapes -unless it's an ominous landscape. That will grab my attention. When I look at paintings that feature women, a vast majority includes children. The women look sad and their heads are always tilted to one side. Their eyes look far away. Sometimes I feel that way. I love white marble greecian sculptures. The smooth curves and suggestive poses are like a Thanksgiving feast. I examined one of Eve the other day. I loved the way the sculpter created that little dent on her lower back right above her buttocks. Hobbies: I used to teach bench aerobics but had to stop because of an injury. I would like to get back into it. I have discovered that I am an artist. I can suddenly draw and paint in less than amatuer fashion but I want to take lessons. I love hunting for bargain antiques so I can brag and show them to my Grandma. I love nature. My son calls me Nature Woman. I'm not afraid of animals and have a tendency to attract them. There's a pond near by and I like to sit on the slope. Well, this big Canadian, goose always waddles out of the pond and idles up to me sideways, He looks at me cautiosly with one eye. I can tell he's unsure but he tries to act so macho. When he reaches me, he just stands there like a sentinel. Sometimes I talk to him. If anyone comes around me, he puts on quite a show. He stands on the tips of his webbed feet and squawks loudly and violently flaps his wings. Then, I have to scold him until he indignantly returns to the pond. I think he thinks I'm his girlfriend (sort of a Leda and the Swan thing). I see hawks a lot. It's funny because I have 20/20 vision and unusually large pupils. I love gardening but I have to force myself to make time for it. I'm an avid reader. I'll read a cereal box if nothing else is around. Numbers and words facinate me. |
