Top Ten "Can't Stands" for Men
#10 - There's nothing wrong with relaxing, but being in a relationship with a couch potato can get old fast. In fact, men are so wary of lazy women that it sneaks into the Top Ten list of Can't Stands.

August 11,2010 at 10:00 amOddly, none of these are the most common from my matches. Some of these I have never actually received from a match. Maybe it is a generational thing.

August 11,2010 at 10:50 amI am looking forward to the Can't Stand for the women. I can't imagine that they would be vastly different from these.

August 11,2010 at 10:54 amThis is funny!
I think the photo that goes with "can't stand women who aren't clean" would actually be attractive to quite a few men! lol

August 11,2010 at 11:08 amMost of this seems like common sense to me.
I mean, they may as well throw in, "I can't stand someone who cuts off my manhood while I sleep and throws it out a moving car" or "I can't stand someone who marries me for just my money."
I mean come on, "I Can't Stand Someone Who Engages in Sex Outside a Committed Relationship" and "I Can't Stand Someone Who is Not Clean" and "I Can't Stand Someone Who Lies to Anyone - Especially to Me"
Uhhh well, duh!
:p

August 11,2010 at 11:19 amI tend to find the hygiene/racism/drug preferences kind of funny - I feel like I can screen for that myself.
I do wish there was a MH/CS that addressed tolerance a little more strongly (the current one is something about religious beliefs) - I can't be in a relationship with someone who is antigay or anti-Muslim. My bf forevers are gay, and a few very good friends are Muslim...so a general, "I must have someone who is tolerant of individuals - including sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, and ethnicity" would be lovely. Right now I'm just very honest about my weekend plans including a drag show, pride, or w/e and see what the response is :)

November 7,2011 at 12:32 pmI couldn't agree more with lunabeach. Your week-end plans sound great to me. Tolerance is easily stated, but I don't find the actual practice of it often in single men my age. It would be a deal breke for me too.

January 17,2012 at 07:35 pmJust be sure that your quest for "tolerance" on this issue doesn't make you intolerant of prospective men you meet. My man will go mano-to-mano with anyone threatening, harassing, discriminating against someone based on their sexual preference, ethnicity (we're a swirl couple) or religion. I've seen him do it in all the aforenamed categories. But, attend a drag show? Not happening. And I don't find that to be intolerant of him at all. I believe that we should respect everyone and stand up for injustice but that does not mean that we must accept it as our own value set. We should do this because it the the right thing to do, not because I think your way is the right (and only) way. We each have our own belief systems and cultures. Demonstrating a charitable attitude here might be a good thing because he may find you lacking in some area as well...
