Do you think you'd survive the Zombie Apocalypse?

In H'wood, ordinary people rise to the occasion -- alien invasions, meteors hitting the earth, soldiers in combat ... all kinds of extreme situations.

I wonder if I'd survive it ... I'm resourceful and strong, but I'm also kind of a wimp.

And those zombies! they're scary!

And you?

Sometimes the show is a little stressful. I don't think I would handle a situation like that very well. I'd need family or someone to protect, to give me a reason, or I wouldn't make it through. I'd give up on the nightmare.

It's amazing to me that anyone would have unprotected sex and risk pregnancy while living through that. I think it's too stupid a mistake for that particular character to have made, even though it's an interesting plot twist.

To be accurate, a zombie infestation wouldn't last more than a year, if you think about a zombie's physiology. Their bodies degenerate, they wouldn't last through winter (water freezes), hot summers would speed their decomposition, they're slow, animal predators would take them out (to include maggots, probably their biggest threat), biting is an ineffective way of spreading disease, they can't heal from daily damage of stumbling and bumbling around, plus humans are very good at making things go extinct. In all honesty, a zombie apocalypse would last a week at best/worst. How long did those escaped animals in Ohio last?

Good points. So all the survivors have to do is find a safe place to hole up for a year or so. A place with food, water, shelter, that you can defend. That sounds a little more doable, to me.

Although, during that year, new zombies are getting created. So perhaps more than a year.

And, we don't know yet what caused the outbreak of Zombie-itis. Maybe it won't disappear when the last Zombie poofs?

Maybe she thought "we're all gonna die soon!" so ... go for it! More likely she didn't think. Can you imagine the intense emotionality of the situation?! And maybe there's some deepset survival instinct in our species ... when in extreme danger, be sure to mate!

What do you think Jenner (? was that his name? the mad doctor) whispered in Rick's ear right before the CDC blew up?

Don't watch the show, but based on most zombie movies I think we all could survive if we didn't freak out and go stir crazy or get cabin fever.

Now I'm gonna have to hunt down the internet episodes of those shows too!

Unlike zombies, the escaped animals in Ohio did not try to attack humans. Even if they had, their bite would not have produced an increase in the size of their population.

They didn't last long. They were murdered by law enforcement officers almost immediately.

I'm not sure how maggots affect zombies. Their brains are a point of vulnerability, but seem to be impervious to anything but a direct hit. A single arrow can take them out, so a single maggot should be able to as well.

Perhaps maggots find zombies poisonous.

I also noticed that the zombie trapped in the well developed gills, so they are capable of regeneration. The physiology of zombies has not been explained adequately in the show. I haven't watched any webisodes, and I don't know if any exist, so I may be missing something.

Some zombies seem to be able to move whether or not the muscle tissue has been severely compromised.

No idea. Also wondering why anyone who disapproved of carrying weapons would keep zombies locked in a wooden barn. Horses escape all the time. Why wouldn't zombies?

"Your wife is pregnant." (Remember, he tested everyone's blood). Just a guess. Love this show!
