I really wish I had not watched this. Alas, it pulled me in like a deer in headlights.

For the most part, there were no big surprises, nor did it really bother me... to each his/her own, is how I see it. It's not a lifestyle I want for myself, nor is it one that I support, but I don't judge if that's how other consenting adults choose to live their lives.

So why am I posting this thread? There was a part that really annoyed me. The part where plural marriage dude said he had an "ick" factor when he met the woman who would later become his fourth wife. His "ick" factor was that she was divorced w/ three children! Dude! What about the 13 children of yours that she will be expected to help care for... and the not one ex-husband, but three current wives with whom she is expected to share you?! Talk about an "ick" factor!

That, and he drives a sports car! Really?! Three wives, 13 children and a sports car?! Who does this guy think he is?... Ick!

Did anyone else see it? Thoughts?

oohh ya I saw it!!
I understand that how they live is their religious belief-fine.
But it's just, so unbelievable still how he is catered to, and even seems to be thought of as "better" than women- he's got 3 wives, a girlfriend (well now a wife), and like you said a sports car, and seems pretty judgmental of his wives, yet they don't say a word...

On the show they were all crying about how hard it was to "see him leave" (to go see his new gf)-when you know it's really about the fact that he's loving someone else. Particularly, someone younger and more attractive- which, they DO bring up, by saying they are not jealous of her good looks but her " good companionship"(?!). Then, one of them proceeds with "but he's a great guy, he deserves a trophy wife."

ughh that grossed me out. It just seems like there is no real mutual respect, or self-respect, for that matter-at least with the women. They respect him, and that's about it.
