I was never a huge Dennis Leary fan, just a casual one. Then I watched Rescue Me. I was forever hooked. There is so much wit and humor in that show. then to see all of the topics that they deal with?!?! Awesome show.

I watch it religiously and besides Dirty Jobs, I can honestly say I am not into t.v. unless it's The Discovery or History Channel or some cool documentary on another channel. I just think reality t.v. is a waste of time, but other LOVE it. Different strokes for different folks I guess and if we were all the same it would be one boring world.

But if you haven't checked out Rescue Me yet, go out and rent the previous seasons. You may want to stock up on food though, because you won't want to leave the house, answer the door, go to work, etc. until you are all caught up with having watched all the episodes!

LOVE THIS SHOW. Hate that it is not on this summer but at least the minisodes are starting so you get a little 5 minute clip. Can't wait for the next season.

I was disappointed as well that we won't get any new episodes this year. I think that I may wait to watch the minisodes until they are finished so that I can watch them together!

I personally thought that they should have made a 90-minute-ish special. The minisodes + commercials probably could have lasted that long and I think would have been more fun and attracted more viewers.

Feel the same way as you Deanster. I couldn't stand Leary before I started watching the show, but now he's awesome. The show is hilarious, and sure it's kinda crazy, but that's what I liek about it...it's funny, makes fun of itself and yet still has the drama.

If you enjoy Rescue Me you should check out The Job, Dennis Leary's very funny cop show (he started Rescue Me after The Job was cancelled). In The Job, he is a very cynical, pill popping, life falling apart, but too busy to notice, trying to keep both his wife and mistress happy, jaded detective. It's hilarous. He's such a great actor. siren

Deanster, you are sooo right about the addictive nature of this show! A friend recommended it to me, so I thought I would give it a try. This summer, ended up watching Season One & Two over one weekend - I tried to stop - but just kept saying - just one more episode. Luckily it was raining over that weekend, so I've been able to rationalize my behaviour ...

This show, plus hisoccasional appearances on The Daily Show have definitely changed my opinion (for the better) of Denis Leary.

The show mirrors real life.
As a former firefighter with many of the same weaknesses in my past, I love this show.
