So there's this two hour show on Travel channel called "Meet The Natives"..basically four people from some tribe in South Pacific joins a family in the US and live with them for a period of time.

I think this is another stupid thing about American TV where people are once again thinking people in other parts of the world are still living in huts and walk around naked.

What do you guys think?

Interesting.....well, it could be a good, informative and educational show where 2 cultures learn about each other. And, given that it's on Travel Channel, there's a shot at it being intelligent....

....but likely it'll be silly and gimmicky.

I have not seen it, have you?

~~~
Also, I'm going to move this to the TV forum so more TV fans can chime in
I have not seen the actual show yet, just parts of it...but part of it showed these almost naked native men going to a party full of khaki-Ralph Lauren polo wearing suburban people...
I can see the attempt at humor...but at the same time I have been in that situation where many Americans have not been to other countries and at one point they asked me stupid stuff like "Really? You have cars in your country?" "So when you go back to your village, how would people welcome you?" "You guys eat pork?" So I'm always apprehensive for these types of TV shows since it's not really a true representation of other cultures.
It's amazing what people learn from other cultures sometimes
