He's on pretty much any channel you hit since his death.....CNN seems to have turned into MJTV...and if I didn't have so much work to do I could watch a minute-by-minute of his Memorial service, which has all but made L.A. proper screech to a halt.

Do you think the media coverage is excessive, or is this all befitting the King of Pop?

And what of this...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,530361,00.html

are we right to celebrate a celebrity at the expense of a military hero?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

Best,
-Lori

I find celebrating the life of someone who more than likely molested children to be disturbing. And before anyone replies back with some he was found innocent line just remember that he paid the family of one boy millions to keep quiet. You don't do that if you are not guilty of something.

He's a singer who "allegedly" was involved with molesting children, ran his hundreds of millions into bankruptcy, and more than likely died from abusing prescription drugs. He made choices that brought about the end of his life.

He didn't jump on a grenade to save his buddies, he brought entertainment.

The whole media frenzy is sickening. To think the loss of this spoiled and pampered weirdo is more important than the loss of our armed forces members, or that the pain his family feels is greater than the family who loses a child in a car accident or act of violence (or any reason) is warped.

A 24 yo woman drowned here Sunday trying to rescue a child. Celebrate her, she deserves it.

Having been to two Memorials in the last year (husband & mother) I think it's a pretty good send-off. I don't begrudge it.

Whatever he did or didn't do, he was loved by his family. They should be the ones to decide.

As for his poor choices, the person who made them is more to be pitied than scorned, in my view.

Someday we're all going to have to face our God.

They, his family, should also be sending off a check to pay the city of L.A the millions is is costing them to pay for it...the city is about two million in the hole...pocket change to his family.

CNN is doing what they think their audience wants, of course; but I agree that it is excessive. It's too bad that we do this and yet ignore the deaths of our service personnel and the other heroes like the one hazmat mentioned.

Well said. I am not sure which is more pathetic. The amount of media coverage or the people that buy into it.
