I attended a National Teacher Conference at the Hilton in NYC this weekend. sponsored by PBS and the UFT. It was great!

Two of the guest speakers were Bill Gates Sr, and Alan Alda. Mr. Alda is still as funny as ever, and though he spoke for two hours, he totally captivated the listeners.

His new show will be aired on PBS and is called "Human Spark". It is all about what makes us humans and separates us from primates and other animals....socialization and the ability to read social cues. If you get a chance to see it in your area, please do...fascinating theory!

Here is a link to the conference, and PBS show times, if interested...

BTW: I wish I could have gotten an autograph, but with all the reporters, and PBS producers running around, I couldn't get one...*sigh*. His lecture was taped and will be shown o PBS as well.

It was fantastic to see him in person. I could almost reach out an touch him! He is a great speaker too....and still very funny.

I am a PBS fanatic of sorts, and still enjoy watching the great plays and talkshows for adults on PBS. I hope you get a chance to catch the show in your area...very interesting!
