In July 2012. This will be a tour with a Choral group that I sing with. I have never been to Europe before. We are going to Switzerland, Germany and Austria, for 9 days. We have a couple of vocal performances during that time - It's like the "Sound of Music" tour! (I'll try not to wear the curtains).

I am not leaving for more than a year, and my mother is already worried about what I should pack.

Thanks! I don't know yet about the music. Basic choral type music, but not the same kind of stuff you'd sing in a High School Chorus (not pop tunes and that kind of thing). The director is making up the repertoire depending on who signs up for the trip. When I registered, there were about 16 people going on the trip. There are about 75 or so total members in the Chorus, but of course not everyone will be going.

I heard about the trip a while ago but sort of back-burnered it because I have no one to travel with. No S.O. to take on the trip... But, I have the money (about $3500 - which I hear is a steal for this kind of trip) and we will be with the group as a tour so I figured, why the heck not? When else am I ever going to get to go to Europe?

What a fun thing to do! I hope you have a blast.

I listen to KUSC all the time ... public classical music station, and they do a big trip somewhere each year. I've never signed up for it yet because ... I'm an idiot! and a cheap one, at that. I really should do it.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I grew up in Switzerland, so I know you'll enjoy it. And what better way to see Europe for the first time than on a tour group where everything is organized for you. I know it's still a year away, but the time will fly so fast it will be here before you know it.

At some point I want to get my boyfriend over to Europe, as he has never been there before.

$3500 does sound like a steal for 3 countries. I priced out Europe trips just to go to France and Spain for 2 weeks for my 30th birthday and I figured I'd need at least $4k for it just for the basics (air/train fares, basic hotel, basic food). It sounds like so much fun! Are you going to Salzburg? If you do you must frolic through the streets and run up those steps and run back and forth in front of that fountain. I'd be lying if I didn't sing "I Have Confidence" to myself whenever I need to get psyched up for something

Good for you Mitchell! Sounds like it will be a great trip. So you sing too...cool...I travelled around Europe, alone, when I was 20 and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I have been to all the countries you are going to visit and they are phenomenal and beautiful. So many things to see and do. If you like crystal, buy Swarzski (sp?) crystal in Switzerland. It's quite reasonably priced. Hope you have a great time!

Sounds like fun and the price is very, very good. Don't forget to leave space in your suitcase for the things you'll buy, and take lots of pictures.
