Greece and Turkey are amazing spots. The train system in Europe is a great way to get around too.

I am currently on vacation in Europe and i have to agree with you. The public transportaion is very easy to use, and not too expensive either. Getting a subway map and looking at all the places i want to go its like a little adventure in itself.
