Hey....Railey Beach, Krabi -gorgeous, Phuket (Anadman Sea) - gorgeous, Koh Samui - gorgeous. Basically, you can't go wrong! I have lived here for almost two years and every time I go to the beach I think I have found my new favorite spot - until I get to the next beach! Everyone will have their personal faves and reason for loving somewhere. Just read up on a few and then take your pick - you won't be disappointed, whatever your choice!

I found Krabi beaches are amazing. Hit Railay & take one day trip to Phi Phi island for sure. You also can do one day trip to Krabi islands which are many & beautiful. Maybe you'd better think of revisiting there again during sunny season from Feb to April.

The beaches in Thailand are generally amazing. Don't forget to take in some of the inland religious ruins.

Virtual tourist.com is a very good impartial free site for global travel, but remember it is also fun to ge a little lost too where you go. I went from Bangkok via train to Chang Mai stopping at different cities along to way it was a great way to see what you might miss.

Wow! I have to ask, is that a photo of Krabi beach in Thailand? It's quite a seductive and even a hypnotic image... Thailand is on my travel list but I admit that, despite having experienced some other adventuresome travels, I'd felt a bit intimidated by Thai-travel. After reading the rave reviews posted here, I think I feel a Thai travel bug starting to bite...

I've been to Thailand 8 times and have been to most parts of the country. I've been to the Patong area of Phuket where there are a lot expats. If you have some time, you might want to ask around there first, since you they might point you to some totally off the beaten path place. Krabi is always a spot mentioned. I have a friend in Bangkok who thinks Ko Chang is great.
That's close to the Cambodian border and is very quiet. Not sure if that's what you want.

If you want some culture, you probably want to go somewhere where there are few westerners and mostly thais. Learning to speak some of the language is by far the most important thing I've found for making a trip like this more than a vacation.
