What are some dream places that you might choose to honeymoon?

Is there a certain time of year that you would choose a particular area?

Some of the National Parks. I want about 7 days for a honeymoon. Time of year doesn't matter. I like them all.

i love reading classical history and literature, although i do not do enough of the last.

if i were to take a big foreign trip, i would like to fly into athens and walk to piraeus where the "long walls" stood that sparta pulled down.

i'd then like to get on a ship to cruise the wine dark seas of the agean- visiting the islands and ionia

it would be great to do that with a new wife who enjoyed my fascination with greece.

I'm particular to heavily wooded areas with creeks or lakes. Other than that, I'm a huge fan of historical museums. Art museums? Not so much.

Scotland or Ireland would be nice.. But wherever we go, it has to be someplace very green. I've been living in some form of the desert most of my life, so I definitely need a break.

Then again, maybe that should be a different trip. I'm thinking I'd miss most of the sights and just have the hotel wallpaper pattern memorized if I was on my honeymoon...

(but I'd have a big smile )

It depends on what type of things you want to do and your budget. Myself, I like island places where the fishing and diving is good. If the budget allows, Fiji or Tahiti would be my choice.

Somewhere in the Mediterranean or North Africa would be my choice, but as someone with a wide range of interests and aesthetics, most anywhere that is not home would be wonderful...!

I would choose to honeymoon in August/September - which is late winter/early spring for me.

Australia
~ Magnetic Island. Beautiful beaches, day trips to the Great Barrier Reef, fishing, relaxation. Bliss.
~ Wineglass Bay - they've got a hiking loop across/between The Hazards. Would make a week of it and travel further up to Bay of Fires too.

Overseas
~ Switzerland: I found a tour for two weeks which goes through Switzerland fairly thoroughly and also a brief visit to the Italian Lakes areas.
~ The Greek Islands: cruise for 7 days around the islands, also visits Athens and Turkey.
~ New Zealand: though seeing how close I live to NZ, this may just be a long weekend visit one day! LOL

I'm really drawn to water, so a beach or lake/river location (if none of the above pan out) would be the basic 'requirement' on my part. And decent facilities - I can't do the camping scene using the ground and shovel!
