Wow, sounds like you are really getting around. I actually had to turn down a trip to Israel with a friend because it was the wrong time, but if you have any questions about Israel I can pass them on to her. She is from there and her sister still lives there. So I can get the inside scoop.

Egypt is marvelous! Not without its challenges, especially for the solo female traveler, but I'll face them down any day.

? not without its challenges...

My sister and brother in law were there this summer and absolutely loved it. Its very hot though. My brother is from Egypt and he hasn't been there in years. It was refreshing for them to go back. Lovely place though they had stomach issues for days/ week.

If anyone can go - enjoy it.

I've been hassled occasionally by taxi drivers--and once nearly molested--even though I dress conservatively (no shorts, for example) and sometimes even wear a headscarf to cover the most of my hair. And the touts can be difficult. But overwhelmingly the people, men, women, and children, are kind, friendly, and helpful.

As for another sort of challenge: crossing the street in Cairo! Ever tried to make it across the Midan Tahrir in one piece?
