I love this idea! I was wanting to take my son on a cruise for his Birthday this year. I just wasn't sure about which cruise line or total cost, could i afford it being a single mom? for you whohave been before could you say how much total i would have to come up with, then i could save like mad to make it! thanks for all the advise everyone!

I hate to advocate for a particular business, as I don't know if it's appropriate here,but www.vacationstogo.com is a great place to find hugely discounted cruises. I've always booked my cruises through them, andyou can get some really great deals. Another suggestion for you is the Disney Cruise, depending on the age of your child. (I did this with my pre-teen son, and he had the attitude that he was too old for it, primarily because there were disney characters walking around the ship, in costume, like Donald and Mickey,Goofy, etc.), so he wasnt impressed with that, but we had a good time anyway! Their ships are beautiful, and I met one woman, probably in her 30's with no children, who loved Disney Cruises so much she traveled them exclusively (Even with NO KIDS!)
