A friend and I are going to Key West in June. Does anyone have any recommendations on things to do or places to eatthat aren't in every tourist guidebook?

I grew up in Florida. So a must do is to take a snorkeling boat trip if in the Keys. Key West has changed alot over the years and is very gay friendly. I always buy a Frommes book of a city I go to (or rent it at the library)-it really helps.Their website is http://www.frommers.com/to get some info on Key West

Oh and the Ernest Hemingway Museum. Hope that helps. Enjoy your trip.

I think it's a good place to rent mopeds if I'm remembering correctly! Lots of walking around taking in the atmosphere, shopping, and people-watching, is what I remember. I don't even think we could find a beach when i was there! (Unless you're lucky enough to be staying someplace that has one of there own!) I don't remember any specific restaurants, but lots of casual outdoorrestaurants and such. The atmosphere downtown is wonderfully colorful and romantic! I regret not having taken any photo's when I was there so I could remember it better! Have fun!
