Has anyone spent Chrisr=tmas in Costa Rica? Any advise will be appreciated. Four fiends booked a 6 bedroom beach house near Puntarenas City. Must dos, must bring? The care takers of the house have two girls (3 & 12) ,thus, what would be an appropriate Christmas gift gift? Any info please???

Thanks,

Willa

Have not spent a Christmas there but gifts would be about what you'd expect to give here. A 3 year old would most likely enjoy a soft doll or stuffed animal. The 12 year old something a bit more-- perhaps some cute jewelry or a purse or even bath stuff. Whatever you get, they are some of the nicest, most appreciative people you will meet and I'm sure whatever you get will be wonderful. Find out favorite colors if you can.

As for must brings/must dos: SUNSCREEN! You are very close to the equator and if you're anything like me, you WILL burn. Most of the beaches have a pretty strong current so keep that in mind. A camera for sure as it is absolutely beautiful. If you plan on doing a lot of driving around, either bring your host or a gps. You should probably look up activities yourself (a good search engine will do, or try www.costarica.com) but it is a rain forest-- the most exciting things have to do with being outdoors. Some of the things my group did was ziplining (also called canopy tours), white water rafting, and just exploring. Most activities last a while so most of the time they feed you. And the food is GREAT!

I really hope you enjoy your trip!! Hope I helped in some way.
