I am thinking about going to Europe. First trip there. I have been putting off before other countries. I think I should just go to Europe this year.

Do you prefer cultural immersion or do you want to take a short amount of time to see as many great places as possible?

I think Finland, Sweden, and Norway in July would be great. The days are long and it is very beautiful. In addition, you can attend a few cultural events. St. Petersburg during the White Nights festival would be fun. I plan to do that trip this year or next year.

As long as you avoid August, you should also visit London and Paris and do some shopping if the dollar gets a little stronger. In addition to the standard tourist traps, there are a lot of great places to find wonderful food. Renting an apartment in Paris for a few days will give you the option to cook with locally produced ingredients in addition to going out to eat.

Love Italy and Greece. If you consider Italy August is when many Italians take vacations so the smaller towns will pretty much be shut down. Are you looking for the beach bum, the touristy, the city slickeror the country folkexperience?

If things work out I planning on taking a motorcycle trip in June or July. I have the route all worked out. I will leave Texas, ride through with stops in New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas. The trip will be about 8700 miles and most likely will take me at least 3 weeks if not more because I want to see the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Grand Teton Park, Yellowstone park, Devil's Tower and the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee.

Try to avoid Japan during May and June (it's the rainy season). Other than that Japan is a great place to visit.
