As promised to Legend29, I lost our bet. The Giants rule and are better than the Pats.

So... Does it still count as a rubber match if the same team wins the first two games? Or is it two strikes and you're out?

But what I REALLY want to know, is "So, were the Giants the better team this year? Or do you still think it was a fluke?"

Better this year? No, despite the superbowl win, the pats still have a better record. the pats were a consistently better team all year. However, on the day it really mattered, the Giants were better. Brady played like crap, our receivers dropped too many balls, and our defense might as well have stayed home. For some reason, the Giants seem to have our number. So I suppose it's not a fluke this year. Last time, yeah, a crappy team beating an undefeated team by catching a ball on your helmet...yeah that was a fluke. This time around, it was just better play by the bad guys i guess.

It's similar to how we always have trouble with Miami on the road. Miami is a horrible team yet they give the Pats tons of trouble.

In my opinion the Pats beat themselves more than the Giants beat them. The horrible safety, the interception and the lazy sloppy defense. oh well, maybe now Belichick will finally getting around to fixing the defense and stop thinking that our offense can carry them.

If you take Brady's idiotic safety away, a field goal would have won it on that last drive. It's a lot easier to get to the 30 yard line with a minute on the game clock than have to cross the goal line. Brady's getting off easy around here. Everyone's blaming Welker which is ridiculous in my opinion.

While I'm bummed out after this loss, it doesn't sting nearly as bad as the 2007/08 superbowl. Given how horrible our defense is, I really didn't expect the pats to get into the playoffs this year, nevermind make it to the superbowl...

Oh well, maybe my Bruins will take another cup home this year. And the celtics are looking like the team to beat.

Boston (NE) has 4 major sports teams and 7 titles in the last decade, NY has 9 professional major sports teams and only 3 titles. I'm feeling just fine as a Boston fan.

Now this I can respect. "On the day it really mattered..." If it makes you feel any better, I always cheer for the Red Sox against the Yankees, and I've been a Celtic fan since Larry Bird and Kevin McHale. And I'm not always anti-Pats. I cheered for them in every Super Bowl where they didn't play the Giants.

I appreciate your being willing to man up about the loss, though.

Well, I just had a pretty good (and, I thought, gracious) post typed, and for some reason it got held up in mod land. Hopefully it will show up sooner than later. The gist was "Good post, better luck next year."

Brady can't throw and catch the ball at the same time. Who do you think he is, Mr. Perfect?

Thanks, Giselle! Of course, Brady can't even throw the ball if he's on his back most of the night! And I thought he was Mr. Perfect?

Oh, that Mr. Perfect (aka, Curt Henning, professional wrestler extraordinare (?), and (briefly) the 5th Horseman, and the man who took Arn Anderson's "spot.") Sadly, he is no longer with us.
