I play coed soccer and I sometimes get the feeling that men find women who are talented in their athletic endevours to be unattractive. What are other people's thoughts on the topic??

From what I've seen I think that attractiveness is enhanced by skill in sports.

In school, normal looking athletes were seen as hot from many guys.

Personally I think it's cool that women can kick butt in the skills department if they do play...and even if they aren't that great, it's nice to see someone (male or female) play with enthusiasm. Having played in coed soccer games, I know that some guys get embarrassed (and even angry) if they get shown up by a woman. It got so bad one time, I threatened to take my ball home on account of an opposing Arabic fellow constantly cursing one of our female players just because she was able to outplay him. She never backed down though...and I admired her even more for that.

Good day,
LK

I tend to find athletic women to be very attractive, even if they are not conventionally attractive. I think some men who aren't athletic themselves might be a little intimidated, but on the whole I think men like athletic women.

In my experience men really don't like it when girls are as good at or better at a sport than they are. I am always disappointed when this is the case. The only exception might be in something like pool or billiards as there it is more about the mind than physical prowess. A lot of men don't mind us being intellectually their equals, just not physically superior.

(This is a personal viewpoint based off of my experiences and has nothing to do with the way mainstream men think minus one part )

Personally, I find it to be EXTREMELY sexy.

A woman that can keep up with me in athetlics ; I've never found that before in women that I've met.

Most non-athletic women I've met actually find me intimidating that I do athletics quite a bit and to them, it can be a self-conciousness issue or inferiority complex that I keep up my body and they don't..

Women being active raises confidence level and a confident and self-reliant woman is very sexy to me. Some men on the other hand love just being in control of almost any situation and dont' like it if a woman shows a sign of confidence...so it's a 50-50 standpoint.

As someone mentioned above they don't like it if a woman is better than them in a sport..

My ex.Yuki was a phenom in tennis and was top 3 in her perefecture in Japan. She whooped me every chance she got but she never got a big head over it and I always took it as a chance to learn tennis because I never played before. If a woman beats me in something even something that I love, it's always an experience worthwhile and something to learn.

Just as long as they aren't Kobe Bryant confident, that is. That would be a complete turn off all together.

A woman isn't attractive or unattractive because she plays sports. She either is or isn't attractive simply as a matter of fact.

Shared interests can help make it easier to get to know someone, but that's separate from attractiveness.

Hm... in and of itself, I don’t think that being good or bad at sports affects attractiveness that much for me.

That said, I’ve met some women who were really into soccer. They were pretty intense—very competitive and tough, ready to throw in nasty elbows and hard slide tackles on the terrain... I have to admit that I felt a little intimidated by them.

But I’m not sure if that’s more a question of athleticism or rather of personality style...??

I personally like the idea of a sporty lady myself. Mind you I feel I'd click with her personality wise more.

I once played a cricket match against a team that had 5 girls in it.
