I sure hope that the NBA Finals is allowed to be more physical than this game 1 has been called.

It is so much more fun to watch when they are allowed to bang.

Let them Play! Let them Play!

Only.... the future hall-of-fame shooting guard for the Boston Celtics out of Atlanta, Ga & the University of Connecticut.

Best jump-shooter I have ever seen.... that was called for many wimpy fouls that kept him from making much of an impact in Game 1.

He & Perk were not allowed to use their physicality advantage & thus rendered ineffective & frustrated. (Don't worry about who Perk is!!).

Eh.... West Coast basketball!

It will likely be called differently in Boston.

Now that's interesting! I occasionally watch the last 5 minutes (which takes half an hour!) of Lakers games ... yes I'm in LA ... but that's it. My friends are major Lakers fans and just so we could talk about it I've tried to get into it.

I did not know that refereeing was that, shall we say, flexible? and that there's an East Coast vs West Coast approach to the game? What's that about!

This is the kind of stuff that makes learning about a new sport so fun!

The different divisions tend to be a bit different.

The West coast teams tend to run more & be a bit softer.

Traditionally, the best East coast teams have been very, very physical.

When Eastern teams play against each other there is a battle. The referee has to adapt to that. He has to let SOME pushing go otherwise there is no flow to the game & everything would be a foul.

More physical play is much more fun to watch for me.

The Celtics are much stronger while the Lakers are much taller. The taller team will have an advantage if the stronger team cannot touch them much.

Oh. This series is going to get good.

Great game with Ray leading the way with 8 three pointers & 27 points in the first half.

That is fun to watch!

And yeah they let Perk use his muscle a bit more.
