So, have we any cricket fans here?

I'm off to see Australia & Pakistan tomorrow at Bellerive Oval and Friday can't get here quickly enough for me!

Cheers VB - I had a blast! It was great!

A great knock - Punter makes his fifth Test double century.

DSC00601.jpg
Earlier, Pup brought his score to 150. Punter & Pup put on a partnership worth 350 runs to Australia.

DSC00619.jpg
Australia declares at 8/519 after Mitch Johnson is caught. Now the Pakistan Team come out to run-chase and Australia fields.

DSC00622.jpg
Siddle - right-arm, fast-medium bowler - steams in to Pakistan batsman. This delivery was 139.8 km/h.

At Stumps, Australia had taken four Pakistan wickets. We've already won the Test, but always great when we make it a clean sweep!

Hey Meri, Great photos. I live in Sydney but visited Horbart year before last when Australia played Sri Lanka. Really liked Bellerive oval and Hobart. It would have been great to watch Punter and Pup put on so many runs togeather. Thanks for sharing the photos :-)

well, pakistan took the fight to you guys but collapsed in a way i've never seen before in a test (but then again its pakistan so anything is possible). in the 3rd test they didn't have a chance. their results for years have been pretty ordinary for what a lot of people think is one of the most naturally talented sides in the world.

cricket seems better now since australia has come back to the pack quite a bit (after all a windies side missing its two "spearheads" threw away the third test and made the second test more exciting than it should have been). i just can't wait for the next ashes.

Glad you had fun, but are you sure you are speaking English?

You're most welcome Yes, the Tri-Series with Australia, India and Sri Lanka was very good. I was recovering from an Op at the time, so spent a lot of my recovery time watching the telly coverage.

Bellerive Oval has a fabulous rap! Apparently, some fan from the UK came out to especially watch this Third Test because it was at Bellerive! I'm looking forward to the Twenty/20 match in late Feb ... now that we have the new night lights installed.

I agree. Pakistan does have a strong batting side ... I was surprised they didn't put on more runs. They've got some pretty good youngsters, though, may be a very different story in a few short years! And Aamer is a quite the bowler.

Ah, the Ashes ... I still don't understand how England were able to run-chase that huge score we assembled.

ROFL VB! Positive! You can get your own back by speaking in your very strange football terminology ... I have absolutely zero idea what's going on with that sport!

Punter - Ricky Ponting, the Australian Captain. Batting Order No 3.
Pup - Michael Clarke, the Australian Vice-Captain. Batting Order No 4 or 5. He's also a part-time bowler.
Stumps - end of play for the day or match.
8/519 - means Pakistan got 8 Australian wickets, whilst Australia gained 519 runs. Each Team has 10 wickets per batting session.
Test - this is a style of cricket which lasts for five days.
Run-chase - the opposition attempts to chase down the runs scored by the other team.
Runs - the two batsmen run between the wickets, from one wicket to the other is one run.

Thanks for the description, but I think I needs to be experienced in person with someone that knows what the heck is going on. Next time I'm in Australia, I'll look you up.
