WHO DEY first and foremost. I have a huge pet peeve (you thought I was going to say something else didn't you ya pervs lol). Bandwagon fans. The Bengals have sucked since I dunno they went to the Super Bowl in the '88 season and yes, I have been a fan since birth. I know that sounds impossible, but it's true. I know it also sounds idiotic, but again true story. However, now that we're going to the playoffs again I love the people who are like "The Bengals are sooo good! I love them" Gag. Anyone else? Or am I just that mean?

I agree with you Katie. I HATE bandwagon/fair weather fans. I don't mind so much that they jump on the bandwagon of a winning team. What I don't like is when they carry themselves as if they were following the team all along, even when that team wasn't as good.

New Orleans is an interesting example. Aside from LSU there really isn't any other strong football program in Louisiana. That said, you stick with your team through thick and thin if you're a real fan. If you choose not to do that, I would acknowledge your current allegiance to the team but I would not consider you to be a real fan. If we get into a heated debate about a team, I'm less likely to respect the opinion of a fair weather sports fan.

Well, I've been a Bengals fan forever and for most of that time they've sucked (and yesm I've worn a bag over my head at times). But, all of the sudden all the announcers are like... The Bengals have done it again... blah blah blah when all I have heard throughout the years are "The Bungles" lol.

It really shows when they get in the playoffs. All of the sudden, there's a waiting list for season tickets, other seasons... people can't give away their tickets. I'm sure next year will be another waiting list season.

Man, New Orleans pulled it off today didn't they. I wasn't sure if they would or not. We lost our second seat even with our win today. Boo!

I totally agree! I live in Pittsburgh and have been a Steelers/Pens fan since birth! In Pittsburgh, we have ALOT of "bandwagon" fans for the Steelers and for the Pens. If you have been to Pittsburgh or live there you know that the city lives and breathes there sports and alot of times the mood of the city is determined by our wins or losses.

My brother and lots of Pittsburghers call these people...Trendy McD*ckfaces!

Oh no, I'm coming in below a mention of the Steelers, haha. I've been a Ravens fan since I started paying attention to football at all, and I wholeheartedly agree. Only loving a team when things are good is like only watching a drama when the characters are happy, in a way. I have some mad respect for the people I see proclaiming their faith in the Rams or Lions -- or the Redskins, which I catch more frequently because they're also relatively local. Bonus points if they can take a joke.

Haha i do love the fact that you are all mad about the bandwagoners.....I must say that I am not a fan of them as well but I guess since I am a KC Royals I cant say much about people claiming my team since we havent had a winning season since 1994 and no World Series since 1985 lol.....But I do share the same dislike for those Yankee/Red Sox/Patriot/Colts/Penguin/Blackhawk/Laker/Celtic Fans that have no idea of the history of their team since they just joined the bandwagon!!!
