I am loving my Trojans right now. This weekend is a big trap game for them. I think they will be fine; however, I am really worried about the Cal game next month. If we can get through October undefeated, we will go undefeated for the season no doubt. The only thing I want to see more is Florida to lose. The hype for Tim Tebow is unreal. You would think it was the second coming of Christ or something hahaha.

Isn't it like that with any football head coach, though? I remember when Jackie Sherrill arrived at MSU and they castrated a bull (which landed them in hot water). They thought the man was God and had lost their friggin minds.

The hype for Tim Tebow is warranted, although I don't consider him to be an NFL-caliber QB. But no knowledgeable college FB can deny what he's accomplished. And that promise he made after the Ole Miss loss -- and subsequent follow-through-- is the stuff of Hollywood.

Ole Miss...yik...Here's my problem with the them. They are often good, but never really, IMHO, great.

Yeah, yeah, they are our rivals, true enough, so I'm not going to have too much positive to say from a fan POV. But when they have a good team, they often don't play many good teams. In their good years they play okay/decent to "lucky to be in uniform" teams. And years where Ole Miss has no offense, defense, or punter, they play all these really amazing, powerhouse teams.

They should have an easy win tomorrow. Actually, I just might have to root for them.

I love how competitive the SEC has become. I could see every team in the SEC going to a bowl game this season. Only 2 max can go to BCS bowls; I would imagine that would be the East Division Winner versus the West Division Winner. I think Florida is the clear favorite from the East, but in the West it's anyone's guess. I'd have to say Alabama is the best right now, followed by Ole Miss, then LSU, then Arkansas, then Auburn, then Mississippi State.

This week was truly harsh for Mississippi football with the fall of Ole Miss, MSU, and USM. And although Auburn won, they looked sloppy Saturday, or at least, from the little that I saw of the game.

Everyone has been saying LSU defense is all whack, but look at their record thus far. 4-0, not too shabby in IMHO.

But I have to hand it to the Tide, they seem to have it together. But I question Arkansas. They are 0-2 in SEC games. Kentucky looks better than them.

LSU is 4-0, but vulnerable. No way should that game against Mississippi State have come down to a goal-line stand. You've got Florida in two weeks; your best chance is if Tebow doesn't play. And Alabama is the best team in the SEC West. Enjoy the wins while you can.

I used to hate the Miami Hurricanes, but with a new coach and a program rebuilt to do things the right way, I actually find myself rooting for them. Big win for them last night against Oklahoma (albeit OU was missing several key offensive starters).

Disappointed that UW couldn't pull it out against Notre Dame. Have I mentioned that I hate Notre Dame?

In many conferences (Big Ten, ACC), there is still no clear-cut powerhouse. But I guess that makes for exciting TV.

I believe the SEC is still the best conference top-to-bottom. Too early in the season to wager money on that, but when you have as many Top 25 teams as the SEC, it's hard to argue against that.

Also glad to see my local team (University of South Florida) doing well. Big win against Florida State, I think second-biggest in school history (with the biggest coming against Auburn in 2007 to give USF its first-ever Top 25 ranking).

Notre Dame is just one of those love 'em or hate 'em teams. Like the college-level Cowboys.

I'm loving the ACC this year. The 'Canes, VaTech. Good Saturday football so far.

My Terps suck, but hey, I'm a Redskins fan. Not unused to that at all.
