I have no idea how anyone will respond here. Or if anyone will! But I don't know yet how I feel about this issue. I know we aren't going to boycott, but there are reports out today that China is asking U.S. hotels in Beijing to monitor their Internet traffic.

I just wondered if anybody thinks about this stuff besides me.

All those protests are just media generated bs. The average protestor knows nothing about China or Tibet.

Most likely they just made up this bs just to get more viewers for the Olympics. There is a lot of money involved for everyone. Everyone has lots of money to lose, especially american businesses exploiting China like everthing else.

The thought of any sort of a boycott or official government protest of the Olympics makes me sad. I've always focused on the athletescompeting, asthe Olympicsreally gives them a chance to face the best competition in the world and lets them shine in front of the broadest possible audience. It isn't the individual athlete's fault that the Olympic committee possibly made a bad decision in choosing the host city, but the athletes are the ones that get penalized the most by any sort of boycott (especially if it prevents them from competing - 4 years can be a lifetime in sports).

Perform the same Google search inside China and outside China and you will get different hits. Fact is, Google has made massive concessions and censorships of their own search engine just to appease the Chinese government and allow them a foothold inside China.
