What's your take on the Tom Glavine-Braves situation? If they could just admit it was the million dollar bonus, I might not feel so cheated right now. How in the ^%&^ do you throw aside a 305 game winner, who you cultivated - you don't. I know Tom walked away from us five years ago, and some might say payback is a &^&$, but at least we know he did it for the money. The Braves won't even admit that. Also, what happened in the five years that Tommy was gone...NOTHING. I may be too sentimental, but the man deserves some respect. At least Bobby cried for him, and Schuerholtz issued an apology....Frank...idiot.

Just goes to prove that it is a business. There is no loyalty to players, so why should the players have any loyalty back to the teams? I could go on about each side, but what is the point? It is the life of a professional athlete. In short, it may have been about the bonus which I did not know about, but in the end, the Braves did not think that Tom gave them a chance to win.

Right, MLB is a business and the players are a commodity. When you sign the contract you are owned by the team and they can make whatever decisions they need to meet their purposes. I agree with Tom when he said the release was money based. Pretty much so the Braves didn't have to pay if they kept him on the active roster. It's a business decision. They figure they can spend their money better on younger prospects. 305 wins aside, Tom is no spring chicken. From an emotional fan standpoint, yes it sucks. But from a business prospective it's probably a good decision.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh atl had thier run and could only win one world series with all that pitching talent they blow
