When Iwas growing up I loved watching the half time shows the bands put on during college football games.Since I was in a marching band during junior high and high school I could really appreciate the time and effort the bands put into to their routines. Unfortunately with the exception of a minute or two it seems that the tv networks have replaced the half time show with boring repetitive commentary on what just happened and their speculation on how the next half is going to be. What is your opinion of halftime on the college football level?

College football is great though I haven't watched much in the last two years. I love the drums and the rest of the marching band. I knew a girl in the marching band awhile ago. You are good people! Nice personalities. Ok once I went and saw an Army Navy game in Philly. Great half time show on the field. I sawa collegegame and one half time there was the marching band. I think on the others they did have the commentary.

Yes I agree with you; college football is fun and the marching bands make it much more fun.Makes your blood move faster and remind me of Autumn.

What most people do not know about the marching bands is that while most everyone else can take the summer off or cut back on the number of classes band members are required to practice all summer. We get up early, get cleaned up and report in usually when the grass still has dew on it. We tend to put in at a minimum 4 hours practice a day. Our shirts or blousescan be sopping wet from persperation and our hair dripping but we go on. Once we have mastered our routines and the music then its time for full dress rehearsal. Those uniforms can be a wool blend. Ever thought of wearing wool socks, a sweat shirt and heavy cotton warm up pants in 90 plus temperatures. That will give you an idea of what the full dress feels like. We also take our instruments home to practice our music until we could play it blindfolded.
