Again, I could write a book on each topic, but I will try to be as brief as possible.

Where did the world come from?

As a Christian I believe that God created the Heavens and the earth, but I am open to debate as to how this was accomplished. I am intrigued by the relationship between thought and matter, perception and reality. The point of contention between Creationism and theories like the Big Bang appears to be how something (matter) comes from nothing. However there is no conundrum if matter is only thought.

How did life come to be as it is?

Genisis 1:24, Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so.

Reading and interpreting this passage word for word in what way does it contradict evolution? God said, “Let the earth bring forth……” He did not say in what manner it was to do so. It is also notable that there is no reference to the number of days that had transpired after the Seventh day when God rested and the day he created the first man.

What is the purpose of life if any?

As a Christian I struggle with this one, but strict interpretation implies that life serves no purpose other than the Glory of God.

Where does right and wrong come from?

There is a separate thread that addresses the origin of evil so I won’t rehash it here.

Are our lives judged, and if so, by whom and on what essential criteria?

This deserves a thread of its own also. In brief I believe we are judged by God unless we have adopted Christ’s perfect righteousness, but we are judged by ourselves more immediately.

What happens when we die?

I’ve given this a fair amount of thought but am confused as Christians have different views on this too. Some believe that Heaven is whatever pleasurable experience we desire. Others believe that God assigns us some task that we will find eternally pleasurable. Some say that just being with God forever is enough.

My analytical mind wants to know if Heaven has an atmosphere. Is there air and gravity? Will I have a body and if so what age will it be? Will I still need to eat and will I still be driven by biological impulses? Assuming I make it to Heaven I suppose the specifics won’t really matter as I will have no control over them anyway.
