I saw a move once where this couple kept reincarnating into different bodies and different lives but always managed to find each other no matter how much distance there was between them. Sometimes one would be the man and the other would be the women. One time they were both the same gender.

It didn’t seem to matter what the circumstances were they kept finding each other and falling in love and it would always end tragically. I think the catastrophe part was added just for dramatic effect but the point was clear that certain souls seem to gravitate toward each other.

Do you think there is any truth to this? Are certain souls destined to be together?

All souls..(Seeds of God) are destined to 'flower' and 'return' to Source.

Souls are on a journey of 'learning'. Maybe we learn from certain people because karma has brought us together.

Its very romantic to envisage souls 'meeting up'..again and again...

But we humans are romantic................

In Essence.....the soul dwells in ALL bodies...in the SAME ETERNAL MOMENT...........

God 'knowing' Himself

Strict interpretation doesn’t really allow for it, but some Christians do believe it doesn’t necessarily conflict with scripture. That is, some Christians think that being reincarnated doesn’t necessarily mean that there isn’t a judgment day or vice versa.

I don’t believe I’ve been here before and judging my success at navigation through life this time a second go at it wouldn’t help much, LOL! Mark Twain said it better though.

Even so, I think reincarnation is a fascinating concept. I try to keep an open mind about anything spiritual because when it gets down to it “context” is the only difference between Christianity and witchcraft particularly when you are speaking about things like people coming back from the dead and talking animals.

When I was a little girl all that stuff about the devil being everywhere and demons being in pigs scared the tea out of me! Still does! Now suddenly I have an uncontrollable craving for bacon.

What is.......RE-INCARNATION?

And IF it ...IS....what would be its purpose?

Some believe that we are Spiritual Beings on a physical journey. The purpose of reincarnation is so that we can increase our understanding until we reach sufficient enlightenment to transcend the need for corporal existence altogether.

Reincarnation is a modified form of the doctrine of transmigration. Some apparently did not find the belief that one can come back in any life form too appealing. Therefore, the belief was modified to accommodate only human beings. Transmigration, the belief that one can come back in any life form, is prevalent within Hindu/Eastern belief systems. However, such an idea is not too appealing to the Western mindset. Therefore, Westerners (mostly ecclectic New Age types) have largely adopted the belief that you only come back in successive incarnations as another human being.

And of course, its purpose would be to work out karmic ( Sanskrit word for action ) misdeeds incurred during prior incarnations. Therefore, according to this belief system, any evil and suffering experienced during this present reality would be a result of past misdeeds in a previous life.

The ultimate goal is to liberate oneself from the constant cycle of rebirth, and basically achieve annihilation (or the Buddhist Nirvana). It is therefore an impossible task, since we will always be incurring more and more of a karmic debt with each successive incarnation. But personally, it is hard to determine which option would be more "hellish": endless rebirth or existential annihilation.

Anyways, I am attracted to the Celtic idea of finding one's Anam Cara. The meaning always gets lost in translation. But the idea is that the person for whom you were intended, comes from the same ancient clay without form and side-by-side. The search for one's Anam Cara is a search for that special "soul friend" for whom you were intended from time immemorial.
