God has given each of us certain abilities and capacities and expects us to use them. Remember the parable of the talents ? All things in moderation. If one sits back and does nothing thinking God will bring you a special someone to your doorstep, you are likely to remain alone the rest of your life. OTOH, if you set out to do it completely in your own strength by your own methods, you may find someone but perhaps someone that will bring unnecessary challenges into your life.

It is a partnership. We do what we are capable of doing and let God do the rest.

The key is to always adhere to right motives and right living in the process. To the extent one is able to do in accordance with principles of right and good, one will be in harmony with God's will.

I do not believe there is only one right person right for you. I do believe God expects us to use good judgement and wisdom in finding a mate.

And after we have done all we know to do and think we have found that special someone, remember each of us has free will and the ability to do good or do evil. Some have learned the hard way that that special someone can make wrong choices and cause harm. Maintaining a relationship is continuous work. It isn't over because two people have said "I do." That is just the beginning. I think too many people quit working on the relationship after the wedding mistakenly thinking, "Now that we're married, you cannot divorce me because it would be a sin!" Such thinking is a tragedy.

All marriages are made in 'Heaven'.....the MOST productive marriages are the most difficult ones.

That is a beautiful thought, especially to someone as hopelessly romantic as me.

Have you ever been married?

If marriages truly are made in Heaven how can we as imperfect beings hope to sustain God's perfect gift?
