Perfect love? Does such a thing really exist?
It does: God's love for man. The closest love man feels is the rare, unconditional love one can feel for their mate/family.

The world could use a whole lot more of that.

Love is not a 'thing'..............it is Absolute Power......which is INFINITE

Only finites exist.....

Of course there is perfect LOVE....GOD is perfect....(well that is TOO much)......God is beyond all words......however we MAY see LOVE/GOD.....as the Power that releases all potential....(Itself)

Begin to 'see' through the ALL SEEING EYE.....the Eternal...and our view of ALL religions would change drastically.

I have a friend who is always asking me why I spend so much time on these boards. She says conversations like these are dumb and you can’t change the world, blah blah blah!

She’s right, you can’t change the world. You can’t change anyone’s mind and it is foolish to try. Hell, we can’t even change our own minds, LOL! However, it is not really necessary to change the world or expend the effort to change anyone’s view point. That happens naturally because once you see something through someone else’s eyes you are forever changed. I don’t want to die just “believing” this or that without ever having explored other options - - options that exist outside of my own mind and outside of my present belief system and that is why I’m here.

At first I couldn’t stand the sensation of having the foundation of my belief system shaken. Do you know what I mean? Everybody wants to have that cozy feeling that they are right and there is nothing that exists beyond their feelings of certainty. I know I don’t know everything and I also know how harmful it can be when our personal truths become too localized. Reality has a way of crashing in and suddenly the world is not flat any more. So now I try to embrace the adventure of having my world redefined on a regular basis, LOL! It’s invigorating!

I can’t say I’m enlightened enough to attempt to see things through the “All Seeing Eye,” but I can appreciate the immense value of shifting one’s perspective and not getting too attached to any one “truth.”

Most cannot muster anything beyond self-love. I know unconditional love first-hand, whereas she cannot comprehend anything like that. Everything has some condition, some string that holds the love there in place and each problem or unmet expectation is just another strand of the string that is sliced. I have not met anyone outside of Pastors or the wives of Pastors who knew unconditional love for their companion.

Unconditional LOVE...(Divine LOVE)

Imagine a mother loses her 8 year old daughter to a monster of a man....who does unspeakable things before murdering her.......

Imagine the little girl in front of you and next to her the monster....

Is the LOVE that you feel the same for both?

Being a Christian is THE MOST difficult thing you can achieve......

IS GOD LOVE??

God is love.

As for your example, love can be expressed in different ways. For the little girl, love compels defense or protection, but for the monster, love compels the lover to preach repentance.

The LOVE that IS God......would be the same for the little girl...and the 'monster'

Jesus would not have seen any difference...................a Christian aims to 'see' through the Christ's EYE

NOT EASY

Love does not require similitude of expression. I can love my brother and a woman with whom I share companionship equally, but express it in various ways that are according to the respective individual. I think you apply the off perception of love to Jesus based on the initial assessment of love itself.
