fisrt off i just want to say, I am a believer of God and feel i have a strong connection to him, however, i dont know the bible off by heart, and do not attend church as they scare me.. alot, many people think its ok but others believe this i am just at a buffey chooseing all the good stuff about being christian.

iv heard people say, its ok to question the Lord....well i cant really do so as i do not know everything he has said??

but maybe someone else could help me...there are quite a few questions...But this is the big one!!

is the bible really The Lords word??

i have read some of it and have found most of what it say's is said through someone else...deciples stories of how amasing he was,
i agree on the amasing part, he is, but are these stories not just a guideline?? a place to go when we feel lost, to see the morals of them and compair them to our lives...people seem to take it extreamly seriously...like its a rule book, and believe its there "job" to tell the world "the truth". ...i watched a documentry on crime the other night and in it was a detective who said that 3 or 4 people could have whitnessed the same thing, but will describe it in different ways...there views on what happened are very different, and it brought up the thought of the deciples, what if some of what they said is/was a bit far fetched....there is a book my friend is reading called the shack, and it describes the Lord as a normal human being, with faults and sins like us all, this to me would make more sence, and would make him way more powerful than what has been said of him, if he was real just like you and me, and did the most selfless thing in the world then i believe that is way more awsom, but i could be wrong,?! so which do i believe?? is there even an answer for that??

anyone...

you ask a lot of questions. The Bible is a lot of things, parables, true stories, wise sayings, songs, there love stories in it. As to the truth of the Bible I found that it was right about what I could verrifie, As I read the third chapter of romans I saw the truth in my own hart, and sought the God of John 3: 16. The purpus of the Bible is to point you the God of the Bible and help you build a relationship with him. If any one asked me the theme of the Bible I would have to say it is to trust God becuse he is trust worthy. i sugest that you simply read it, start with John, or Mark and simply read and let it speak to your hart and see where it leads.
