Of late, I am finding I am disappointed with our Pollies. In some cases, I'm furious. In Oz, voting is compulsory, the Pollies are there because they were elected.

I am so sick of hearing yet again about Pollies who used their position to indulge in affairs; but what really angers me is learning that they used government funds/allowances to enable the affair. I consider this to be cheating.

So, I have a question. Do you think that all Pollies caught cheating - in any form and it must be beyond supposition - should resign? Why/why not?

No, I do not.

I consider them human beings.....with all our frailties. I believe that their position alone.....one of Power.....makes them doubly susceptible to "offers".

Right or Wrong.....it is what it is.

Personally, I learned a long time ago.....if I do not expect perfection from others.....I will not be disappointed in them.

That's my take.

Washington DC would be like a ghost town.

I am not one to judge people. That is not my job. But I think people who pursue these jobs should set an example.

Okay, so now look at this in the context of the Private Sector. The employee is caught cheating the boss/employer by cooking the books, or short-changing the till. Anything along those lines. The employee would be fired and deservedly so.

I don't expect perfection from people ... but I think it is a small ask to expect honour and integrity from those leading our countries.

I agree. I think it is similar for all jobs where public trust is integral to the role.

For me, cheating would be so far down the list that it is pretty inconsequential.

I think that they shoud be kicked out for what I underlined above. This is a miss use of their trust.
