George W. Bush: "Miss me yet?" billboard

What do you think of this? What message do you think the billboard's trying to send - and does it succeed?

Also, some say that the group of folks who rented it should not stay anonymous, but publicly own their opinion. What are your thoughts on that idea?

I really don't get it. I can understand people not agreeing with Obama's presidency, but to want Bush back? Really? It's illogical.

Oh, and Dito... sanctions is not the same as going to war. Issuing sanctions against another country is part of international policy. It's just a way of saying "we don't like what we're doing, so we're not going to play with you". It's not the same as bombing another country into oblivion and over turning their leaders... which is what Bush did. (the responses listed on that link are just silly)

Hard to say jcd ... When Bush was in office I could borrow money more easily to purchase a home than when Obama stepped in ... When Bush was in office there was little to no concern that the government would put me out of business ... When Bush was in office I saw less taxation ...

Lot to be said for that

Sanctions are an act of war. They never hurt those in power only the poor. Guess who the poor of the country end up hating because of it?

When Bush left office he handed over the worse economy in our life time.I don't understand how Obama gets blamed for that. I really don't. I see blame being given to previous administrations, and rightfully so. I just don't get how the blame is being placed on Obama.

When Clinton left office, unemployment was at 3.8%. That's the lowest it had been since 1970. It shot up to 6.0% under Bush. That was without the hardships of our current economy. Granted, the unemployment rate is currently at 10.6%. But, again, that's riding on the back of the economy that was handed over by Bush.

As far as your particular line of employment, I know you and I have read the same Health Care bills. From reading them, I see an increased client base - and increased profits - in the wings for insurance companies. I don't know why you think that will put you out of business. I really don't get it.

How much have you seen your taxes increase under Obama? His administration has not increased taxes for any one.

Another thing I don't get: People complain about taxes, complain about the deficit, complain about national debt. We have to pay for the wars we have been waging. We have to pay back the stimulus money used to stave off another depression. We still need our national infrastructure. How can all that be done without an increase in taxes? How can we continue to complain about the debt being passed on to our children while we refuse to pay it back ourselves? I just don't get it.

Anyway... back to the point. I can understand someone missing the Clinton years. But, why in the heck would ya want to go back to the Bush years? We already know what W. did to the country. It wasn't nice.

No. Issuing sanctions does not equate with military action.Do you honestly think we should have the same relations with Iran as we do with Britian, France, Japan, or any of our allies?

The difference between Bush and Obama is that W. threatened with unjustified military action, while Obama does not.

I think it's hilarious.

And an even bigger statement is when Obama declines in popularity polls and stocks go up. When his popularity increases, they drop.

Historically speaking, presidential approval ratings and stock market performance don't really correlate that well. Although a president's popularity may increase based on the economy, presidential popularity has never effected the stock market.

Bush also inherited a recession from Clinton? Did he let it run it's course? Nope. What did he do? He had stimulus and big government spending. Obama inherited a recession from Bush what's he doing? o wait wut lulz?! He's doing it on a bigger scale?

Didn't 0bama say that the stimulus had to be passed to keep unemployment from going over 8%? Woopsie.

Taxes have not increased on anyone???

As far as I am concerned we are still in a recession and heading for a depression. The wars should be ended. For every dollar in tax the government collects they spend $1.60.

Yeah we do know what Bush did to the country, why is 0bama doing the same?
