What do you think?

I think it's a farce. If it was the Nobel War Prize I'd say he deserved it. But how can someone continuing two unconstitutional wars, having drones drop bombs in Pakistan, and threatening war on Iran, win a peace prize?

Yea, Al Gore won it too. I figure with this selection committee, you or I are next on the list.
A Nobel Peace Prize... I'd kill for one of those.

He can't get the Olympics, but he gets a Peace Prize for doing nothing, worldwide, very loudly and in front of many cameras, for nine months now.

The only thing of substance he's done is take over the banking industry, along with a large portion of US manufacturing, apologize to people who attacked us, and made the Tali.ban the GOOD GUYS in Afghanistan.

Attaboy, Barack!

Apparently talking about change is sufficient in a world where people are no longer interested in doing it. I agree with builder...Al Gore won a Peace Prize for lying about global warming in a movie.

Maybe that's the key now. Lying. One claims the world is going to end by falsely representing scientific data and the other claims he's going to solve world problems by following the same democratic party line we've seen over and over for the last one hundred years.

I credit a Peace Prize as only slightly more impressive than a Golden Globe nomination. Or maybe an Oscar. Sure, occasionally a great movie gets a few (Braveheart, The Dark Knight, Forrest Gump). But then you have crap like American Beauty, Borat (I enjoyed the movie but Best Comedy of 2007?), Brokeback Mountain, Million Dollar Baby, Sweeny Todd, Titanic, and True Lies (An Arnold movie? Really?). And those were only ones I've personally seen, there were quite a few that I refuse to watch on principle on that list (Room with a View and Sense and Sensibility come to mind). I suppose taste has a bit to do with it...after all, people liked American Beauty with its paper-bag-watching weirdo and entire cast of unbelievable characters.

I'm off topic. I'm still getting over watching Zorba the Greek, another "classic" good film that was absolutely horrible. Apparently making your people act in a way as far from normal human behavior as possible is "artistic."

Which makes perfect sense when you see Al Gore up there on the Peace Prize list. That committee is probably the same one for Golden Globe nominations.

In other words...out of touch with reality. At least Obama is more likable than Al Gore. I'd probably go out for a drink with Barack; he seems like a good guy when he isn't promoting destructive public policy. Al Gore would probably try to stick me in a sauna with some strangers so I can see how it feels when the heat goes up so high from global warming like Val Kilmer in The Chaos Experiment.

See? I knew I'd tie in that movie stuff somehow =).
