Haven't heard the song in awhile and I don't have the bandwidth to watch the video and listen to the lyrics again. I know once verse is "Money is the root of all evil today". I would disagree though, money is not the "root" of all evil. One specific human desire creates the desire to have money and power. Everything people do eventually comes back to that one basic human desire.....the desire to reproduce.
Posted the lyrics first and didn't think it would go through mod filter so I posted vid . Looks like lyrics went through.

Depends how you look at the song. For me it's for money not really against.

"So you think that money is the root of all evil? Have you ever asked what is the root of money? Money is a tool of exchange, which can't exist unless there are goods produced and men able to produce them. Money is the material shape of the principle that men who wish to deal with one another must deal by trade and give value for value. Money is not the tool of the moochers, who claim your product by tears or of the looters, who take it from you by force. Money is made possible only by the men who produce. Is this what you consider evil?....Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns--or dollars. Take your choice--there is no other--and your time is running out."

"Atlas Shrugged" - Ayn Rand. Founded of the philosophy of Objectivism.

"If a heir is equal to his money, it serves him; if not, it destroys him."

That excerpt right there is the answer for all those who uses the lotto winner's sob stories as a defense to the saying, "money is the root of all evil".

Thank you for your response. It has provided a better understanding of US politics. While your politics may be antagonistic at times, it is clearly non-violent and you are to be congratulated.
In my country, the politics is both antagonistic and violent, particularly leading up to a General elections.
In fact, it is easier for me to share my views on politics in a forum such as this. Again, thanks for the lively discussion.

In military situations there are 2 unwritten, but strictly taboo subjects :- Politics and religion ..WHY? heated situations occour when dealing with emotional subjects requiring 'belief' or 'faith'..there is no common sense..next to selling sex, politics is the oldest game in the world and its succes for the individual politician revolves around getting into power and staying in power..here in the USA election planning now begins almost immedeatly after one is elected ..the final part of the battle lasts almost a full year..power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely .. "we the people" are sidelined and duped in the ensuing circus atmosphere..mainstream media's game is to mis-inform ..those who foot the bill and pull the strings need to be carefully dug out..they are the REAL power holders.. "for the people by the people" or "for the corporation,by the military industrial complex " ?? Greater
Europe spends about 2 weeks campaining for thier main elections.. elections are paid for by public funds..and get equal coverage on public funded TV stations.. far less of a circus and somewhat more accountable...as well as a tiny fraction of our 'defence' spending... its more antagonistic here as there is a LOT at stake for the monied interests involved..a $5 mill in 'contribution's' to the winners campain will pay off ten fold or more ..

Thank you for sharing your perspective with us, annie. We have a lot to be thankful for here, and we needed to be reminded of that.

I think I'm gonna have to go with this one. I am perfectly happy to treat others as they treat me.

The rule is to treat others as you would have them treat you ... this inverted application tends to escalated hostility.
