I am waiting a couple of days to find out the next story that comes out. There is more to this story that we haven't heard yet. I am suspicious that she is going to do something in a speaking tour ("Outside the Government"), to rally the forces in the more conservative/pro-life circles. Or there is some other family crisis on horizon, or ethics charges coming up on her from the investigations.

Yes, chapgirl, I am wondering the same. (Here we are, in the Lord's service, being cynical about people's motives.....where did we learn such a thing? )

Oh, I'm quite sure she is "resigning" because of some scandal that will make her look like a complete hypocrite. It should be very interesting to see what she, or her husband, was/is involved in. I love seeing politicians suffer! Now, if we could just get the reporters to ask the tough questions and not let ANYONE dance around a question. I wish the media would force strictly "yes" and "no" answers from politicians.

That was my first thought also when the story broke that she was resigning. Smart of her to break the news on a holiday weekend when no one was going to be around where she wouldn't get much flap.

Interesting to see when Monday rolls around, what is going to be "outtted" about Sarah, her husband, or her children.

Got to love politics and the juicy scandals going on! Wonder if the news is going to break about here having an affair like the Governor of South Carolina did...hahaha

Politico, The Daily Beast, and other blogs are reporting that there are quite a few unanswered questions regarding some of Todd Palin's business dealings and the construction of their home. I am wondering about that, but who knows?
The more I read about it, the more it seems that something is not right. Even some of her closer advisers have said that they didn't know she was prepared to resign, only that she wasn't going to seek re-election. They thought she'd called the press conference to announce that. That makes me think that this was a rather sudden decision, and that raises red flags for me.

Read this first:: Bill Bryson's "A Walk In The Woods", his description of his Hike along the entire length of the Appalatian trail...It summarizes the true story of two old friends who decide to hike the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail. Examines the book's value to hikers.

Yah.

A wee bit disquieting, especially when you imagine her as POTUS, and her finger has *VERY* quick access to the nuclear trigger.

I enjoyed that book. It gives you a perspective that you won't get from the typical trail guides, that's for sure.

If there is a scandal behind her resignation, I hope she talks about with the press more intelligently than Sanford is right now about his affair..I'm getting to the point where I cringe every time he opens his mouth. Don't these guys have people that tell them, "Just stop talking now" when it gets to this point?
