How ironic! Your posts have consisted of nothing but emotional hysterics and a few illogical arguments. Your rants reveal an irrational dislike of the poor and an utterly inadequate knowledge of economics.

Feeding hungry schoolchildren hasn't and won't contribute in any way to our economic troubles. The associated cost probably consists of about 1 millionth of percentage of our GDP.

The reasons for our current economic situation are complicated and varied. They include terribly irresponsible lending practices by banks, irresponsible borrowing by the public, and govt. mismanagement.
Thank you for injecting some sense into this discussion.

A declaritive statement or perhaps an explanatory statement, why is such a statment needed about something that was never said...here's a delcarative statement for you...kids know very little about the real world, they choose childish nonsense in place of common sense...got it

LOL Your posts are getting progressively more ridiculous, but are also rather amusing. At least you're good for entertainment purposes.

Problem A: When you post things of this nature, you sound as though you are hoping/wishing for them.

Problem B: For all your rants against "emotionalism" (at least on the occasions when you spell it correctly), you end up making wild statements like this that strain credulity. You sound far more emotional than the people you accuse of it.

There really is no point to continuing this discussion in this vein, and so I will cease to comment.

Years ago when Newt Gringrich voted to take away a free milk program [or lunch?} from an inner-city school program, I stopped being a Republican and became an Independent.

As someone who grew up sometimes with not enough to eat, I believe State Rep. Cynthia Davis (R-MO) needs to be put away in a metal box in the sun for a week. With no food.

Let's see how hunger motiavetes her. Imho anyone who agrees with such hatred against poor people, have lost contact with their soul & the Spirit-that-moves-thru-all-things. The real Chosen People are the poorest; never the richest.

As a teacher who works in a computer lab that is open from 7am to 10 pm daily, I allow kids to eat, often bringing in food myself, putting it on the bookcase for anyone who wants it. If kids are hungry, then they are also dealing w/ many other things.

Adminstration (many retired military, into order, structure, rules and procedure) "threaten" to write me up. I simply say, I'll sign it. There are worse things a kid (many of whom do only receive one meal a day) can do than eat.

Hard to argue w/ truth. I've yet to be written up and don't care if I am.

There's this thing called compassion that moves the human spirit; the person and his/her real needs come before some rule, or economic theory or priniciple. There are deeper guiding principles.
