From Obama lobbies doctors on healthcare reforms - Yahoo! News

Begin Quote:

While Obama insisted he was not advocating caps on malpractice awards, he also called for exploring a range of ideas to scale back "excessive defensive medicine."
Doctors have long complained they have to shoulder high malpractice insurance premiums because of the lack of limits on malpractice suits and those costs are often passed on to patients in the form of higher fees.

End Quote

Of course, read this:
05

Begin Quote:

Plaintiff lawyers rank second only to unions in making large contributions to Democratic candidates, and in many states they are virtually the only source of campaign funds for progressive candidates. In Pennsylvania, for instance, during the 2004 presidential elections, virtually all the deep-pocketed donors in the state gave to Republicans. Of the top five Pennsylvania political donors identified by the nonpartisan Center for Public Integrity, only one gave to Democrats: Richard Schiffrin, a Pennsylvania plaintiff attorney who donated $50,000.

End Quote

So, while I like what he's SAYING, I think O's a big fat lier, or is it lyer, or layer, or lawyer, what the hell is that word I'm looking for...

Ah, wait, there it is: Liberal.

If only I could believe his words, and not his actions.

Wait, I re-read it, and caught some Obama-speak. He added that, "No caps on lawsuits" thing, huh, just wants the docs to stop being so "defensive."

What the hell was he trying to say, anyway? I don't speak liberal.

This is typical politics. They want to reform the healthcare system, but they only want to reform the parts that coincide with their ideology (and political contributors.)

It's crazy to talk about healthcare reform and not talk tort reform. As Obama admitted, the epidemic of lawsuits has caused doctors to perform defensive medicine which has increased costs through ordering a lot of tests that are not necessary, and it increases costs because of the increased premiums in malpractice insurance fees.

I'm all for reforming healthcare, but let's reform all of it and deal with all the contributing factors and not just the ones that fit with dem ideology.

In the campaign, Sarah Silverman said that she used to have a black boyfriend, and she told him that "Obama would have made a really, really expensive slave."
