Israel on edge as US presses to halt settlements - Yahoo! News

Quote from the article: "

Along with the calls to halt settlements, Obama's active courting of Ir.an and pressure on Isr.ael to make progress with the Palesti.nians have only compounded Isra.eli fears.

Israelis will be anxiously watching Obama's June 4 speech in Ca.iro, where he will deliver a message to the Mu.slim world to try to repair relations that frayed badly under the Bush administration.
Obama will also visit Sau.di Ara.bia before he goes to Egyp.t. But he has no plans to stop in Is.rael, an hour's flight from Eg.ypt, during his swing through the region.

"

Badly frayed relations... can you believe that? What relations? They've been burning our flags and calling for our destruction for hundreds of years. Bad media, bad, bad media, for trying to mislead us like that.

Anyway.

O just gave Isra.el an undeniable, worldwide, public chastising, followed by a big ol heido ho fark you!

Man... that dude's HARSH.

Show me one datapoint where O suggests he's not on THEIR side of this war.

PING Israel.is: GET OUT NOW! Your only ally turned its back on you.

PING Ara.bs, Ira.nians, Sau.dis, et al: ATTA.CK! Go get em, boys & girls, wipe those bad ol Israelis off the map.

PS, I predict this will be a very busy summer for the Is.raeli troops... hope they're listening, but O just issued the battle call for the Pals to start popping in rockets...

Egads, this is, I dunno, it's unspeakable. Seriously, if you don't understand what O did today, then you aren't paying attention.

This is how you treat PRNK and Ir.an, not Israel. From a political standpoint, O just shayt on Israel.

Israel will and should defend itself by all means possible...with everything in their possession to do so.

How does this make Obama a Muslim? And why does what religion he is matter anyway?

Is there not freedom of religion in America?

Yes, there is, Faira; but some Americans shame that idea by using the word "Muslim" as a criticism and a slander.

Oh, I'm not criticizing Muslims. I could care less. I hate that he's misleading the Americans and the world, though, rather than just coming out and saying it.

Israel knows, though. Don't believe me? Google a few Israeli web sites:

Obama about to betray Israel, says former intel official

Obama about to betray Israel, says former intel official

A former top US intelligence official warns that the Obama Administration is about to break America's long ties of friendship with Israel, and maybe even take steps toward the dissolution of the Jewish state.

Speaking on condition of anonymity to Douglas Hagmann of the Northeast Intelligence Network, the source said:

"I have every reason to believe, based on what I’ve seen at my level of [security] clearance especially over the last several years, that Israel will soon be completely on their own… or worse."

He went on to note that the betrayal likely won't happen in one dramatic moment, but rather subtly, behind the scenes, and over the course of several years.
The Obama Administration is preparing to "provide more support to Arab countries [with] financial and military aid, undercutting Israel’s defense efforts all while pushing Israel to succumb to the pressure of unreasonable demands designed to end with their political annihilation as a nation," said the source.
Israeli officials have of late noted a marked increase in the pressure from Washington to more rapidly acquiesce to Arab land-for-peace demands, and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has clarified that Washington is none to pleased with incoming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's refusal to commit to the creation of a sovereign Palestinian Arab state with Jerusalem as its capital.

"

HOW PROPHETIC WAS THAT! They wrote that in MARCH. Wow. I have the chills...

They know the score. Israel's our ONLY ally in the ME. Every other country over there calls for our destruction, and did so well before Bush went into Iraq.

Anyway, time will tell. Israel won't be on the map much longer. Obama has officially betrayed them. He's NOT on their side -- he's on the Palestinians and the Arab side, and he's not shy about shouting it to the world.

"I'M A MUSLIM!" Obama yells to his Arab brothers and sisters.

Then, in his campaign in the US, he says, "Oh, hey, yeah, I'm a, um, Christian. I go to this radical rac.ist Christian church, and um, well, I ~was~ Muslim, but not anymore. No really. I'm Christian. I want America to succeed, that's why I'm quadrupling its debt, crushing its military, usurping and outsourcing its commerce, and showing deference to the Arab nations."

Whatever. This is f.king insane, folks. INSANE. I suppose this is how some of you libs felt when Bush went into Iraq, huh.

So because he is visiting foreign countries that don't like Israel means that he is Muslim? I guess Bush converted too because he was visiting all these Muslim countries.
Israel should be on their own anyways. Not saying Israel shouldn't defend themselves, just saying that we don't need to get into their fight. We have enough problems of ourselves. And I would bet that if Israel was attacked by Iran we would come to their aid. If Saudi did I think we should stay out of it since we ARE allies with them (and have been for a long time) as well. This whole idea that "the middle east is out to get us" needs to stop. Just because a few crazies want to fight us doesn't mean every Muslim in the world does. Don't really understand why Americans have this fear of Islam.

I never said I feared Islam, or that I thought they were out to get us.

But it is a fact that Osama (not Obama, so far as we know) is a Saudi. Many of the ter.ror.ists all over the world are Saudis.

It's also a fact that most Arab countries, and now, the US, advocate the destruction of Israel.

The Iranians and many other ME countries openly want to eradicate Israel.

Other countries, like Egypt and Saudi Arabia, quietly support Ha.mas and the groups that attack Israel. Ha.mas is a proxy for them.

In 2004, the Dems wrested control of Congress, and have been visiting Iran and the ME since then. Remember all those goofballs who went to Iran?

Bush said he supports Israel, but that doesn't make much difference. He can't do anything without Congress writing him a big, fat check.

So Obama comes in, and the DAY HE'S INAUGURATED, remember, Israel ceased its attack on Hamas. The Israelis got one last big offensive in back in December, and ceased fire the moment Obama got sworn in, knowing the tides had turned against them.

So now, the Israelis are out there, alone, as you suggest. They have water to the west, and enemies to the north, east, and south. The only buffer zone they have between them and the Arab forces is that settlement region.

Once that buffer zone's gone -- which is what Obama's doing, he's trying to get Israel to stop their settlements -- then there will be nothing but a fenceline between Israel and its enemies. He's cutting away at Israel's defenses.

We'll see how long Israel holds out. It'll be interesting to watch, I guess. They won't go down easy, we all know they're nuclear, and they're well-armed, well-trained, desperate, and unafraid, but they'll still go down.

No, Obama will not come to Israel's aid. I'd bet money on that. In fact, Obama sent MORE MONEY to the Palestinians, than he did Israel, following Israel's cease-fire the moment Obama was sworn in. He called the Palestinians to congratulate them on their new friend in Washington.

Obama's no friend to the Israelis. If anything, he's an enemy. That's why he isn't landing in their country, and why he probably will dump AF1's defecant waste on Tel Aviv when he flies over. Just so there's no confusion, see.
