It was stated in another thread the conservatives seem to oppose everything that President Obama does, well actually it said Republicans but I wanted to say hey look he got something right.
The ACLU is hopping mad because the President has decided that it is not in the best interest to release pictures from Gitmo.
So there, look I agreed with what the President did.

Yes, I think it was the best call; although in general I'd rather see more transparency rather than less. But he said that he feared releasing them would endanger our troops, and seeing as they would be the ones to take the risks for his decision, it was the right thing to do.

I agree with that one. And I agree with him on Iraq. The latter makes me an unusual conservative.

But I don't agree with his Afghanistan policy. Or much else.

True I agree with you per Obama not releasing torture pictures. That just puts Americans lives at danger.

But of course the idiot media greedies had to put pictures & videos up and rehash things per to past tortures.

Somewhere soon, either American Soldiers and/or American Civilians will pay the ultimate price for those torture pictues and video coverage that was aired last night.

I noticed that too, I just am tired of them trying to incite things. And then the stupid people that say, no we have to have them shown because it was wrong. They do not even know what the pictures show, but they are so sure that the pictures are evidence of wrong doing. (walking away shaking head)

if releasing pictures of what they did puts lives in danger- they should not have been doing what they did to begin with. that should make all of us all the more mad. i myself am ashamed of what we have done in the name of 9-11. it is not surprising to me that we as a nation collect more enemies than friends.

if the pictures aren't evidence of wrong doing- then show them already and lets exonerate ourselves. otherwise i, and others, will assume the worst.

There are things that our military, CIA, ATF, FBI, and other law enforcement do that we as the general public do not need to know about.
For example, my friend who is a SEAL is not able to tell about many of his missions and my Special Forces friend who was injured not long ago in a "training" accident.
Personally I believe you assume the worst because the media and elected officials have made it seem as so.
I agree that some things that have been done since 9/11 by many on both sides have been wrong.

What you say would be true if the world were perfect. It's not. Pictures of American troops on Saudi soil can cause men to want to fly planes into buildings. But that doesn't mean there's necessarily something wrong with our troops on Saudi soil...even though putting them there may have consequences.

That's not the best example, but it's one that's easy to follow. The point is that you point is incorrect. It's not to say we haven't done some things we shouldn't have; I'm not addressing that. But the standard of good conduct isn't whether pictures of what we have done upsets someone.
