excerpt:

"While half the nation has a favorable opinion of last Wednesday’s events, the nation’s Political Class has a much dimmer view—just 13% of the political elite offered even a somewhat favorable assessment while 81% said the opposite. Among the Political Class, not a single survey respondent said they had a Very Favorable opinion of the events while 60% shared a Very Unfavorable assessment ." emphasis mine

It would appear that some of us who attended the tea parties have struck a nerve. It's not surprising that the political class in this country doesn't like it, but it is interesting to see it put into numbers.

I always agree with the right to assemble peacefully regardless if I agree with the cause or not.

I would expect nothing less from those who wish to have absolute rule

Does it really suprise you that the elite poitical class would have this view? These are people that have to actually vote to NOT give themselves a raise each year. In my opinion the majority of politicians are way out of touch with mainstream America. Thye have staffers take care of many mundane daily tasks that would otherwise take up their precious time. They are chauffeured around in vehicles or personal jets either provided by lobbyst or the taxpayer. How can they know the true pain of average americans that can't afford healthcare, that can't afford their mortgages any longer due to job loss.

The article just points out how little care politicians have for their constituents....little to none. It won't be a concern to them until it becomes an overwhelmingroar from the majority of the everyday folks and I don't see that happening too soon with the popularity of Obama. Then if it does, they will do as little as possible to squelch the uproar until the next election cycle.

Isn't the first thing politicians do when confronted with a possible conflict of their opinion is to deny there is an issue or to marginalize those with said opposite view? David Axelrod characterizing protests as "potentially unhealthy", shows the administration is trying to marginalize opposition to their policies.

Nothing new, just athe otherparty doing it now.
