I have no objections to peacefully proceeding with nations who presently call for America's destruction.

I have no objections to recognizing leaders in powerful countries.

I even pulled up the eagle. Look in his claws: Olive branch in one, Arrows in the other.

My objection is that Obama's dropping the ARROWS in favor of the olive branch. As Newt so amply pointed out, this is very Carter-esque. Remember what's in the other claw.

Not good.

As for Bush shaking hands with "enemies," these are countries with which we have historically and continue to have relations with. We have embassies there, and we have diplomatic dialogue with them.

China gives us something, we give them something, Bush shakes hands.

Russia gives us something, we give them something, Bush shakes hands.

Saudis, South Korea, Viet Nam, same thing.

But dang, CHAVEZ! He's a freaking drug warlord. He actively supports Iran, who actively calls for Israel's destruction, as well as death to the Zionist regime in America. These aren't guys you have relations with. You don't open up UNCONDITIONAL dialogue with them.

Jeez louieez, that's Diplomacy 101! You give, I give, we shake. It's not I give, I give, you take, we shake.

THAT'S my beef. What did Chavez do to earn Obama's praise? What about Castro? What about that Iranian guy?

Not a dang thang.

Here's an olive branch, hold the arrows. It's a careless show of weakness thatinspires anyone looking to hurt America.

We'll have to redo our seal when we print the Obama 50 cent piece.

Actually we (the U.S.) boycotted this last summit on racism. The British and French (and maybe some others) walked out when Ahmidiniwhatever started spewing racist vitriol.

thanks for the correction. At any rate, we're hardly buddy-buddy with him as Saul's rant suggested (which was my main point).

Ah, yes, I belittled myself with a hypothetical. I stand corrected. We are in no way showing more favortism to Iran today, than we were last year.

Still, I lump Castro (I/II), Chavez, Ahm., and Kim (I/II) in the same category. It's my "List of guys I wouldn't go fishing with."
