To say all illegals are violent is just plain silly. There are a few bad apples. But most are just looking for a better life. I used to hire one. He said that they should have to pay taxes since they are here. As I've said before get rid of the income tax and have a national sales tax. I don't like paying tax but at least it's a fair tax.

I am a Canadian Citizen, and an American Citizen currently existing in a gray area until on or both governments decide to throw a fit over it again and once again I will have to choose. The first time I decided on Canada as that is where I was living at the time. Both of my parents were US Citizens so I gave up 'true' citizenship in the US.

Three months late I moved to the United States on a student visa. (Yep I was born a US citizen, but I had to have a visa.) Then my visa was revoked because I had, and I quote the Homeland Secruity guy, "Funny immigration past." I was deported from San Diego. (I was born and grew up in San Diego.) Thankful the Canadian government gave me a job and an apartment in Victoria BC. SIx months later I was on the path to being a US Citizen again. Back in San Diego. I was forced to renounce my Canadian citizenship, and hand over my passport. Hardest thing I did, but I had no one in Canada and my family was here in Southern California. I was naturalized in time to get an emergancy ballet to vote in 04. Three weeks ago Canada gave me my citizenship back and my passport and national ID are in the mail.

So when it comes to immigration, I have been stuck in the stupidest possible loopholes and utter BS imaginable. Yet I still worked my way through the system. I put my name in the lottery which is actually how I got my green card. That was the funniest conversation I ever had. I handed the homeland secruity person during the green card process my old US Passport, and she looked at me and said, "We do you need a green card?" I said, "You guys made me choose between the US and Canada. I decided to choose where I lived." She took the passport, gave me all of my papers and sent me on my way.

So when I hear people say it is to bloody hard to get citizenship, I say yeah it is hard, but if you don't want to deal with hard, get the bleep out of this country. If you really want to be here, hard wont stop you, so stop taking the bloody easy way out and actually do what you need to do to be here, then I can meet you eye to eye. Until then, you've broken the law and I have no respect for that.
