The ruling just came down that Al Franken cannot be seated as Senator yet. There was also a ruling regarding the acceptance of absentee ballots.

And now there is talk of some wanting a revote. I read a poll that said 46% were in favor of a revote and 44% against, with margin of error that means dead even.

So should they work to figure out the discrepencies of the ballots or just conduct a revote?

Okay; everyone for Franken raise their hands! Now, everyone for Coleman, raise your hands!

Settled.

Actually I think they should just draw cards and be done with it; treat it as a tie.

If I remember my history right, we actually ended up withseveral Presidents who hada Vice President from the opposing party, because the second place finisher in the Presidential race became the Vice President.

I move we make Franken the Vice Senator from MN

He has a lot of good qualities but has kinda gone a little too off the deep end recently. But hey is planning on running for president in 2012 or so the rumors say.

The questions he does bring up about 9/11 are pretty valid IMO.

I was contacted about volunteering to oversee the recount, but I couldn't go. Probably a good thing, considering how long this has been drawn out. I tend to think if there was a new election, Coleman would win by a larger margin. Look what happened in Georgia with Saxby Chambliss - when they held a new election he won by a much wider margin because people wanted to make sure one party didn't have complete control in Washington! Not a bad reason, imo.

My parents are annoyed because they were poll workersand were hoping that they would escape having to get too caught in this mess because they are snowbirds and were not able to help with the recount and such. But now they are back and it is still not completed and my dad just got notified that he is being "requested" to GIVE of his time should the court cases warrant additional counts or examining of ballots.
