dito - I think the idea is still to name someone with whose political positions you don't agree; can you name someone who fits into that category? (We already know that you are a big Paul supporter....)
I did with Nader and McCotter. McCotter had one of the most beautiful house floor speeches against the bailout.

Marcy Kaptur gave a good bailout speech too. I also like some things about Dennis Kucinich if I spelled his last name right

Oh that's easy then. Ron Paul the most honest politician in Washington.

I could actually see myself possibly voting for R.P. in the future (if he ever runs again), IF he would lose the religious right leanings/panderings. Or if he could assure me that he fully understands separation of church and state and would fully respect such.

I think in notamaninpower's world, you're pandering towards the religious right if you aren't actively trashing them at every opportunity. Like when you're giving a campaign speech, or speaking in Congress, or giving a press conference, or talking about football with your neighbor, or talking to yourself in the shower. You know, those kinds of times.

I might get boo'd off the mattress for this, but looking at it from a Canadian point of view, I would rather have Obama than Harper any day of the week. Harper was noones fav from the beginning, everyone just wanted a change. Obama at least tries to listen and do what the people want, even when the back, benchers say otherwise. So, I am getting ready for all the boos......

Even though they aren't actually in political positions; Pat Buchanan and William/Chris Buckley.
I agree with these picks, and would introduce Gore Vidal from the other side to the debating forum. We need more individuals, on both sides, who bring both intellect and substance to the table, and not merely talking heads and shock jocks who make the most noise.
