If you voted for Obama, do you feel buyer's remorse?

Interesting. Obama took NY, but this article suggests there is some discourse among the folks on the street regarding Obama's forthcoming tax hikes.

His hikes, by the way, hit emissions, so we'll all get hit at the pump, on the thermostat, and at the grocery store (all your food's grown and processed by these big machines, then shipped to the store by these big old trucks, all of which emit.)

But Geithner defended the overall proposal, saying far more people would benefit from lower taxes under the plan. He said the budget reflects what Obama viewed as "a deep moral imperative to make our society more just. But it's very good economic policy too. It will mean there is again a fairer, more equitably shared tax burden on the vast majority of Americans."

...

"This massive hidden energy tax is going to work its way through every aspect of American life," Rep. Dave Camp of Michigan, the top Republican on the Ways and Means Committee, told Orszag. "How we light our homes, heat our homes and pay for the gas in our cars, in every phase of our daily lives, we will be paying higher costs."

Orszag acknowledged that the energy proposal would increase costs for consumers, but argued that the vast majority of consumers will get tax breaks elsewhere in Obama's budget package.

Obama taketh away, Obama giveth back, eh. To most Americans.

The "rich" already pay the vast majority of taxes. I put that table up last week, showing the brackets (it got mod'd I think). The burden is far from equal -- those at the top get whacked the hardest. So increasing the taxes even more will not mean "a fairer, more equitably shared tax burden on the vast majority of Americans."

It'll mean a heavier burden on more affluent folks, and a trickling effect on the entire population.

Here are the brackets and trend (Bush was good to us taxually), again, hopefully I won't get mod'd:

The Dems keep saying, "Obama's plan is more fair," but define fair, definitively. Might as well say, "Obama's plan makes taxes more cool," or "Obama's plan makes taxes more excellent." It's an absolutely meaningless statement, possessing no value whatsoever. It's not even an argument, tantamount to saying, "Cool."

Is thereany remorse, yet?
