I love it!! Right on the money! Every state that cares about states rights needs to make exactly that kind of declaration.

Congress needs to make a similar declaration that they are an equal branch to the judiciary, and not subordinate.

I wish my state would do it. I think they are thinking about it. I think GA and TN have filed too.

What I like is it's a bill I can read 3 pages and no code needed!

I don't see a date on this...do we know when this was filed? I believe (don't attack me if I'm wrong, as I'm NOT sure) that Texas is already capable of becoming their own"country" if they so desire. I'm very curious to read more on this.

Yeppers, Texas has the right to declare soveignty if it so deems. I think all states have the right. According to this, 20 or so states are wanting to do it, and Texas is the first of nine other states to do so.

I have no idea how accurate or true this stuff is, but it's been going on this week, Feb. 17, 2009, justas O passed the bailout.

One beef in these declarations is that nobody had time to read it!

Found this, too, on Texas secession:

Shockingly, I've seen none of this in the news. Instead, I gotta hear about it in a freakin eha forum!

Wow... I was surprised to read that several other States have alreadypassed similar resolutions, including liberal states.

Unless things get really over the top, secession is probably out of the question. But, I think it's an excellentthing for the states to reaffirm to the federal government the constitutional role between the fed and the states. That this is happening in so many states is an excellent indicator that states are finally waking up to the rights they've let slip away.
