What's your take on it?

For me I can't really say if it's just a natural cycle of the earth or not. I mean Antartica used to be the tropics. But I do know that smog and pollution are not natural and we must conserve and protect our wildlife.

agree that we should be good stewards of the environment, period.

the earth has had warming and cooling cycles since the beginning of time. continents drift. ice caps grow and melt.

one good belch of a volcano spews more into the atmosphere than imagined..maybe more than mankind has since industrialization.

i thinkit's quite arrogantto think we can control the weather on a global scale.

While earth has warming/cooling cycles IMO we haven't helped the situation out any. I doubt our impact has been much to speak of. However, I'm no expert

I agree. In our shop we are going to install some solar panels to cut back on nutural gas usage and bills. Also we are going to switch to waterborne basecoat to lighten our foot print.

I think that if one car in a garage can kill a person pretty quickly then what we do on a global scale is killing a whole lot of things. I also think that waste hurts/kills people & things through contamination.

I believe that our chemical waste is breaking things down all around us. I am not sure of the exact effects but I cannot see them being anything but negative for sustaining life.

I'm not a scientist and can't say anything about global warming from my own personal knowledge. However, based on the things I have read, it seems to me that the media (& Al Gore) have blown it out of proportion, although I will say that I agree with cyclist_steve that we should be good stewards of what we have been given. Having said that I think it's interesting that in everything that the media reports about global warming, we very rarely hear stories like the following without seeking them out.

The Greenies make a huge song and dance about it here. Most of what is presented is emotional and not factual evidence.

The few pieces of factual evidence I have seen, well - I'm just confused. Smog and pollution aren't new ... haven't the British been working to clean up the Thames for 200 years or so now?

You can't cry emotionalism and at the same time use the phrase "the greenies" as if it were a derogatory phrase.
You are just as guilty as them. Do you honestly think that won't invoke an emotional response? Provide evidence to support your thoughts and leave the name calling to your inner voice. No one wants to hear it.
