This should be good for at least 400-500 posts by "The Priestess" (yes, that is a male that calls himself that). That should cover him for half a day.

And, I would happily take 1,000 posts by TP over one vitriolic, mean-spirited, ugly, anger-filled, ad hominem attack.

Jim - Youdo your side no favors with this kind of behavior. Why don't you try making a cogent, thoughtful case for your views instead of being constantly in attack dog mode? What is to be gainedby repeatedly presenting yourself this way? Although rare, I have seen you "play nice" on the boards before, so I do know that you are capable of it.
I've stated my position on this before. Playing nice, as you call it, let's the far left get away with years upon years of hypocrisy. Some of us feel it's time they get a taste of their own medicine. Does it make us look bad? Possibly. But the media are going to demonize us no matter what. For that reason, we've got little to lose in the reputation department. We never had one anyway.

James - I really wasn't referring to you... You present your views strongly, but are generally civil without the gross ugliness that some posters can't seem to resist (and you'll note that I include both left and right in that). I'm talking about "playing nice" here on the eHA boards -- there is no justification to do otherwise (which is, of course a violation of the terms of use, anyway...).

What you choose to do outside of here or how you express yourself in real lifeare not of my concern.

The only people who aren't celebrating are our troops on the ground...

Really?

This veteran is celebrating.
This one isn't. Eh...to each their own.

I assure you, on my worst day I will be far more respectful of Obama than my opponents were of Bush. Not even I, someone who believes in playing rough, would sink to some of the lows witnessed over the past 8 years. The far left is unable to learn by reasoned debate; therefore, I will have to use a rhetorical club to make them understand. It's apparently, the only way.

The "far left" (I put this in quotations because the US doesn't really have a viable far left) might have been slightly more tolerant of Bush had the Rs not engineered a stolen election in 2000. Not exactly the best way to unite a nation and encourage fair play.

had the Rs not engineered a stolen election in 2000.

Care to offer up some proof for this garbage?

There is a lot of proof for the allegation of a stolen election, actually, and I imagine more will emerge in the forthcoming years. 2004 was bad, too, with lots of low-income voters in key districtsbeing discouraged/prevented from voting.

I'm reading a book right now by Sheldon Wolincalled Democracy Inc. (that I've been asked to review for an academic journal) that is pretty disturbing. Would you like the book's bibliography?

Also Philip Seymour Hoffman (the actor) did a documentary called "The Party's Over" that is pretty disturbing.

And I can provide proof for the allegations of people voting more than once, non-citizens voting, cigarettes being offered to homeless to vote, and many many other discrepencies that show how Democratic operatives were trying to STEAL the election.
