On Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 3:06PM CST, I called Eharmony myself to verify this rumor about the “G_A_Y Harmony” issue. The gentleman’s name I talked with is Chris. I posed the question to Chris, “Are the rumors true about the Eharmony company setting up a website which will promote same-gender dating relationships?”
Chris replied, “Yes, it’s true.”
I asked Chris to give me a little more detail about why they were doing this. Chris made it clear to me that he was not completely aware of every detail of the new Eharmony “same-gender” dating website situation. He also responded by telling me that basically, Eharmony was legally [by a court of law] put in a position [from a same-gender discrimination lawsuit] where Eharmony is being required to offer dating services for homosexual relationships in addition to their traditional dating website [eharmony.com] Apparently, Eharmony either has to offer same-gender dating services in addition, or they will not be allowed to offer any dating services at all.

If everything I have posted is true, then we can all thank our associated legal court systems for this arrangement. It definitely sounds as if Eharmony was put between a rock and a hard place by the American judicial system. I could be wrong, but I don’t think Eharmony is choosing to set up a same-gender dating website of their own free will. Are you EH?

Does it matter? If you don't feel you can be part of eHarmony because of this feel free to cancel your membership.

Have a good day.

There were some other discussions about this here when the news first came out. At the time, I posted some comments from past interviews with Dr. Warren that suggested to me that he would in fact be comfortable with such a service, his primary reservation being that they have not done the relevant research on same sex couples to determine if the same factors are important for success (you know, the famous 29 matching factors).

Note that the final outcome was a settlement and not something that eH was ordered to do. There are a lot of g/l folks desiring long-term committed relationships, so it may well end up being a very good business decision for eH!

I believe "Gay" as some call it is always wrong. God In His word is very clear that such practices are SIN. And sin will separate one from God for ever. It is not a normal life style and has never been such. e Harmony is not in the will of God to succumb to out side pressure to allow such practices on e Harmony.

Dr. Warren and company who claim to be of Christian belief have dammed them selves for money.

Before making a judgment on this situation I would need to review the lawsuit and the judges ruling. However it is hard for me to believe that eHarmony has been singled out from the other non homosexual meeting sites and ordered to establish a homosexual site. If this is true, then eHarmony needs to publish this case in its entirety, including the court dockets and the judges ruling so people can have the true facts. If a judge did order them to start a homosexual site then I encourage them to press this issue further and if necessary, all the way to the Supreme Court!!

I could be wrong and I hope I am, but I fear that eHarmony's start up of a homosexual site is more of a financial decision. Obviously it will probably be a financial success and generate additional revenue for eHarmony and the founder. Having heard Dr Warren speak on many occasions and having met him in person I think that he could be more motivated and driven by finances than by Biblical truths and Biblical mandates.

If the court has ordered eHarmony to either start a homosexual site or close the non homosexual site then they should follow Biblical principles and do what is right!! Promoting homosexuality is contrary to God's word!! I challenge eHarmony and it founder Dr Neil Clark Warren to take a stand for what is right and true and to uphold God's word and traditional marriage values!! Do what is right instead or caving in and promoting that which is wrong!!! If they do what is right, I believe they will gain a lot of support and many people will rally behind them and support them in their fight for the right!!! Furthermore and more and even more importantly, God will bless them for honoring Him, for obeying His word, and for doing what is right!!!

Why so? Isn't it GOD who judges people for their sins? He who is without sin.......God is supposed to be all loving/forgiving/knowing. I think he would understand peoples decision to be h o mose xual. I would be pretty sure god isn't a b i g g o t.

So again I will say......If you feel you can't be a part of eH because of this, feel free to cancel your membership.
